    CARE College Programs & Services

Summer Bridge Program

The Summer Bridge Program (SBP) is an alternative admission program for first-generation college students and students who are disadvantaged by economic or educational circumstances. This high school-to-college bridge program is designed to help ease students' adjustment to college life and build a foundation for academic success. Students will be required to apply for financial aid, and those with financial need will have 100% of their need for the Summer Bridge summer term met from non-loan sources.

CARE Tutoring & Computer Lab

The purpose of the CARE Tutoring & Computer Lab is to provide encouragement and support that will enhance each students' academic success. The Lab provides academic support in small groups and individualized sessions. The staff are prepared to assist students in establishing effective study skills, reviewing materials to explore learning styles, developing self-confidence in course work and reduce feelings of fear and failure.

Unconquered Scholars Program

The CARE Unconquered Scholars Program is designed to provide additional academic and personal support to students who were previously classified as foster care, homeless, ward of the State, or relative care.

CARE Financial Aid

CARE provides students with financial aid counseling services. Students can meet one-on-one or in small groups with CARE staff for assistance in researching scholarship opportunities, completing financial aid paperwork, creating a budget, and understanding other financial literacy topics.

CARE Academic Advising

CARE offers in-house academic advising for all students enrolled in the program. Students can meet one-on-one with a CARE Advisor to explore majors, develop class schedules, and gain greater understanding of their journey to graduation.

CARE College Life Coaching

College Life Coaching is a collaborative relationship between all second-year CARE students and a trained professional, provided through the Center for College Life Coaching. Focusing all aspects of college life that are important to the student, Coaches provide each student individual, biweekly meetings for assistance in making the most of college through reflection, discussion, and activities.

Student Support Services-SCOPE

SCOPE stands for Scholarship, Community, Opportunity, Programming, & Engagement.  FSU's Student Support Services (SSS-SCOPE) program is one of the eight federally funded TRIO programs designed to improve student retention, graduation, financial literacy, and overall academic success rates. SSS-SCOPE helps meet these goals by providing academic and engagement activities for qualified students throughout their enrollment. SSS-SCOPE is fully funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

Student Support Services-STEM

FSU's Student Support Services-STEM (SSS-STEM) program is one of the eight federally funded TRIO programs designed to improve retention, graduation, financial literacy, and overall academic success rates for students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math fields. SSS-STEM helps meet these goals by providing academic and engagement activities for qualified students throughout their enrollment. SSS-STEM is fully funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

College Success Program

CARE's College Success Program (CSP) provides a lateral admissions option for FSU students who wish to join CARE after starting their FSU college experience. CSP students are connected to academic and engagement support resources provided within CARE to help encourage their success at Florida State.

Transition, Engagement, & Academic Mentoring (T.E.A.M.) Program

The Transition, Engagement, & Academic Mentoring Program (T.E.A.M.) of (CARE) provides first year students an opportunity to be connected to a peer mentor (T.E.A.M. Leader) to help them with their transition and engagement on the FSU campus. Juniors and seniors in CARE have the opportunity to serve as mentors to students in the program, CARE first-year students, and students who join CARE's College Success Program (CSP). Students who become a TEAM Leader have the opportunity to build leadership skills and make a lasting impact on their fellow peers in CARE.

Bridge to Graduate School

CARE's Bridge to Graduate School program provides academic support and guidance to help students navigate the graduate or professional school application process.
