CARE seeks to prepare potentially first-generation college students for admission and enrollment into higher education. Our pre-collegiate programs are designed to develop students' skills in core academic areas while preparing them for college life. Through a variety of academic support workshops, supplemental educational experiences, direct student support, engagement activities, and campus and community-based enrichment services, CARE seeks to ensure students are ready for the rigors of a college education, as well as develop the skills necessary to adjust to college life. Our pre-collegiate programs serve Gadsden, Leon, and Duval County residents.
The FSU Upward Bound Program at East Gadsden High School helps students prepare for college through academic instruction, counseling, tutoring and a variety of fun and educational activities.
Since 1992, FSU's College Reach-Out Program (CROP) connects potential first-generation college students in 6-12th grades to opportunities that motivate them to achieve their dream of a college education.
