The Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement and FSU Panama City's Student Affairs are proud to present a series of events to celebrate first-generation students and provide educational opportunities for the campus at large. The week of events, virtual and in-person, begin on November 6 and conclude on November 10. This year's theme is #UBelong. First-Generation students, faculty and staff are encouraged to use #UBelong, #FGENExcellence #FGENatFSU throughout social media to bring awareness to their experiences.

TAKE CARE FIELD DAY

First Generation College Students and their friends are invited to come together for an afternoon of activities, music, and food to begin the celebratory week! Through the activities of this event, students will focus on their physical and mental wellbeing while having fun!

Join this zoom session with the Counseling and Psychological Services to get an insight look at techniques and tips for managing your Mental Health coming from a first-generation focus.
SELF-LOVE Workshop
12 PM - 1 PM EST VIA ZOOM
Join this session with CARE Graduate Assistant, Gen Ramirez, as she helps first generation students explore different self care techniques and talks about combating imposter syndrome.
FIRST GEN PROUD LUNCHEON
12 PM CST at HOLLEY LECTURE HALL C | PANAMA CITY
FSU PC'S first generation students are invited to attend a luncheon with a keynote address from Lucero Rodriguez with Emory University. Dr. Irvin Clark, associate dean with FSU PC, along with other campus leaders will be on hand to welcome students and celebrate their success.
ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA INDUCTION
6 PM EST at MOORE AUDITORIUM | TALLAHASSEE CAMPUS
Florida State University is excited to inducted its inaugural class of inductees for the Zeta Rho Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha). The purpose of this organization shall be to recognize academic achievements in first-generation college students, create enthusiasm for scholarship, to promote leadership, and to provide support networks for first-generation students within and across college chapters. First Generation students meeting high academic achievement at the Tallahassee campus will be inducted during this session.

First-Generation College students, faculty or staff are invited to participate in a photo campaign which highlights how the first-generation community posItively impacts FSU.
HEALTHY HABITS: NUTRITION
11 AM - 12 PM EST via ZOOM
First Generation students will get information on balanced eating, budgeting on a college campus, as well as knowing the principles of intuitive eating to help develop a positive relationship with food, eating and their body.
FIRST GEN DOCUMENTARY DAY
12 - 1:30 PM CST at SEMINOLE HALL | PANAMA CITY CAMPUS
The FSU PC campus will stream "A Walk in my Shoes: First Generation College" followed by time for discussions among event attendees.
CELEBRATION DAY KEYNOTE
5:30 - 7:30 PM EST at MOORE AUDITORIUM | TALLAHASSEE CAMPUS
To commemorate the National First-Generation Day, the FSU community will have the opportunity to engage in a dual keynote featuring, Captain Winston Scott and Dr. Michale Cadore. Captain Scott is an FSU alumnus. Following a career as an astronaut, Captain Scott served his alma mater as Vice President for Student Affairs. Dr. Cadore is a former professional athlete and current higher education administrator in Central Florida. Capt. Scott and Dr. Cadore will highlight their experiences and the impact they've been able to have within communities. This event is made possible by the Student Support Services Program - SCOPE in the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement.

FIRST GEN NOTES OF GRATITUDE
11 AM - 1 PM EST at MARKET WEDNESDAY - LEGACY WALK | TALLAHASSEE CAMPUS
Thank you notes will be available for first generation students to sign for someone that has supported them on their journey to and through college. Students will have the option to deliver the notes themselves or have CARE deliver the notes on the students behalf.
TALKING LIFE AND WHAT'S NEXT with LAURA DOWNEY
6 - 8 PM EST at GLOBE AUDITORIUM | TALLAHASSEE CAMPUS and VIRTUAL via ZOOM
Laura Downey, FSU alumna, and Executive Editor of WebMD will be joined by FSU faculty member in a student moderated discussion on topics including but not limited to: the importance of undergraduate opportunities (internships, study abroad, mentorship, etc.); trends in the communication and media industries; navigating life with purpose.
FACULTY ENGAGEMENT
6 - 8 PM EST at WJB 2005 | TALLAHASSEE CAMPUS
Faculty from across disciplines are provided with the opportunity to attend an initial training to gain an understanding of the first-generation student experience nationally and local to FSU. Opportunities for continued engagement and learning will also be highlighted for faculty.

Graduate Education presents many of the same challenges and opportunities for first-generation students as experienced in their undergraduate career. Graduate students that were first-generation college students in undergrad or the first in their family to pursue a graduate degree are invited to lunch to network and build community at FSU.
